It’s hard to believe that today over 663 million people still don’t have clean, safe water and over 2.4 billion live without a toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every minute.
WaterAidSierra Leone is looking for a Programme Effectiveness Coordinator to successfully coordinate the Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation of ifs country strategic initiatives, and provide Technical Support to ensuring that all WaterAid’s thematic activities and underlining principles are properly embedded in programme implementation.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
Technical Support for Policy and Programme Effectiveness
Monitoring the Country Programmes Strategy and Program Plans to promote the review and achievement of the strategic objectives.
Support in setting performance standards and developing systems, templates, tools and other support material to facilitate performance monitoring
Provide technical assistance to implementing partners in the development of plans, technical specifications, designs and bill of quantities (BoQs) ensuring compliance with national and WaterAid standards
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
In close collaboration with Programmes Department, coordinate the preparation and submission of all reports including quarterly monitoring, annual output verification, the impact assessment; data and information for post implementation monitoring survey (Post Implementation Monitoring Survey) and (Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting).
Strengthen programme database and monitoring systems (Project Centre) to assure effective and quality implementation throughout the programme.
Support in developing an effective knowledge management system for WaterAid and partners to aid in knowledge transfer
Provide strategic support in managing and coordinating the implementation process in the CP.
Support Managersinthe development and implementation of annual plans, project plans and proposals that are aligned to the project budgets and programme plan/strategy.
Integration of WaterAid’s principles into programme work
Provide guidance and technical support to partners in the implementation of service delivery on all aspects of WASH facility, constructions or rehabilitations, sanitation programming, hygiene behaviour change, community engagement and support improvement of approaches such as CLTS, WaterAid Global flagship programs and new technologies
To be successful, you’ll need:
A 4-years university degree in public health, project management, management sciences, development management or related area. A masters’ degree level is preferable
Experience in water and sanitation resources management, public health, project management.
Training in statistic and/or planning
