JOB ADVERT HEALTH AND NUTRITION HEAD OF PROJECT (National Status) ABOUT US International Non-governmental organization, Action Against Hunger has been working to fight undernutrition and support communities affected by crisis across the globe for almost 40 years and across nearly 50 countries. Action Against Hunger established its presence in both Liberia and Sierra Leone in 1991 during the Civil War and since then has been operational in the two countries by implementing various humanitarian and development programs related to health, nutrition, food security/livelihoods and advocacy geared towards the reduction of the prevalence rates of under-nutrition in both countries. Since January 2018, the two countries have been clustered and now operating under a single management structure. The coordination office is based in Freetown, Sierra Leone overseeing the operations in Moyamba Field Office. Action Against Hunger is recruiting a suitably qualified Sierra Leonean as Health and Nutrition Head of Project to contribute to the development and promotion of community engagement and MIYCF at health facilities and community levels in Western Area KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Develop and supervise the implementation of MIYCF and community engagement activities at health facilities and community levels Support the project local partner on community engagement, MIYCF, monitor, coordinate and report on activities participate in external and internal coordination Maintain strict respect for confidentiality Other responsibilities: Request for allowances, as well as corresponding bills timely submitted to manager. Respect of all ACF procedures (Human Resources, Logistics & IT, Finance, etc.) Alert manager on all issues that have an important impact or no identified solution or need support to be solved Good working relations between ACF, DHMT and health facilities Adhere to all COVID-19 precautionary measures Timely filling and submission of timesheets and checking and approving for staff s/he supervises. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree, Higher Diploma or Diploma in Nursing; CHO; Nutrition; or Community Development Studies Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point); experience in ICT4D/E (especially iForm) is strongly preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS Minimum 3 years of experience related to health and nutrition Experience in capacity building and supervision Experience in implementing activities and working at community levels and/or in health facilities Good listening and communication skills Good command of Microsoft and English Knowledge in nutrition, IMAM protocol, and MIYCF policy is an asset.
