Tasks performed: ˗ conduct an assessment of the SMEs in the cocoa sector on business activities, cocoa sourcing, services to cocoa farmers, gender issues including corporate social responsibilities (CSR), ˗ produce recommendations on a capacity building plan to enhance Sierra Leone cocoa quality and improved exports, ˗ work with the Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA), the Produce Marketing Board (PBM) and the Sierra Leone Produce Marketing Company (SLPMC) for the development of for an appropriate cocoa export model for Sierra Leone based on the cost/benefit analysis carried out for the different models studied, ˗ contribute to the promotion of the Public Private Dialogue Platform for the Cocoa, Coffee and Cashew sectors (the Sierra Leone Cocoa Coffee Cashew Platform - SLCCCP), ˗ design a quality enhancement capacity building for the private sector in cocoa in Sierra Leone, ˗ Link exporters to European markets for their produce, ˗ work with other consultants to carry out cocoa value chain analysis (VCA) of the cocoa sector in Sierra Leone and Liberia, ˗ participate in the diagnosis ITC Mission for the selection of a value chain in Sierra Leone for the implementation of ITC’s ‘She Trades’ project that assisted 10,000 women in the 4 Mano river Union Countries of Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia and ivory Coast to improve their livelihoods through trade.
