ABOUT US
International Non-governmental organization, Action Against Hunger have been working to fight undernutrition and support communities affected by crisis across the globe, for almost 40 years, across nearly 50 countries. Action Agasint Hunger established it's presence in both Liberia and Sierra Leone in 1991 during the Civil War and since then has been operational in the two countries by implementing various humanitarian and development programs related to health, nutrition, food security/livelihoods and advocacy geared towards the reduction of the prevalence rates of under-nutrition in both countries. Since January 2018, the two countries have been clustered and now operating under a single management structure. The coordination office is based in Freetown, Sierra Leone overseeing the operations in Moyamba Field Office and Liberia Country Office (CO).
Action Against Hunger is recruiting its new Logistics Head of Department to secure sound logistical performance and coordination at mission level in order to provide programs with optimum support for Sierra Leone and Liberia

As a strategic actor and member of the coordination team you will be in charge to :
Contribute to the definition of country strategies for Sierra Leone and Liberia
Coordinate logistics at national level for both Sierra Leone and Liberia CO Logistics according to AAH standards
Collaborate with headquarters in the management of international transport for Sierra Leone and Liberia CO
Contribute to security management policy for the Sierra Leone and Liberia CO
Promote and ensure collaboration and coordination in logistics with AAH the Sierra Leone and Liberia CO’ partners
Prevent and manage fraud and corruption
Manage the Logistics team in Freetown capital and be support/technical Manager for Logistics Manager in the bases and in Liberia
Maintain Gender Mainstreaming in the workplace

QUALIFICATIONS
Master Degree in Logistics, Procurement, Business Management or related fields
Minimum of 3 years professional experiences in logistics management field
In-depth knowledge of Logistics/Procurement law and best practices

Required Competencies and Skills:
Knowledge of Logistics systems and databases
Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
Excellent active listening, negotiation and communication skills
Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization
Strong business acumen for effectively managing the costs and revenues. Anticipating market and client opportunities and responding appropriately.
Self –managing and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Effective in building customer relations with superb negotiation skills
Negotiation skills i.e. the ability for protecting the interests of the organization via negotiations.

WORK CONDITIONS
STARTING DATE: As soon as is possible
DURATION OF CONTRACT: 12 months (renewable). Sierra Leonean contract
LOCATION: Freetown with frequent visit to Moyamba and Liberia

REMUNERATION:
Monthly basic salary: between 13, 317, 000 SLL and 14, 516, 000 SLL according to profile
Monthly accommodation allowance: 152, 820 SLL
Monthly transport allowance: between 110, 000 SLL and 200, 000 SLL
Leave allowance: 12% annual basic salary
Medical coverage including partner and 3 dependants under 18.
