The board of directors and managing partners of this leading primary school in Freetown, Sierra Leone, seek to appoint the following members of staff to further success in the years ahead.  We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic primary school teachers to join our team to foster and facilitate the intellectual and social development of our school children. The successful candidates must be high achievers, be able to maintain high standards, a passion for teaching and love and care for children.

Job Description:

  • Teach early literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Organise learning materials and resources. 

  • Use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, arts & crafts 

        outdoor activities, etc.) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities.  

  • Planning, preparing and delivering lessons.

  • Assess each pupil’s performance to ensure they are mastering the necessary skills as they progress. 

  • Follow and comply with the schools teaching standards and safety regulations. 

  • Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provides appropriate information.   

  • Promoting the general progress and well-being of each pupil entrusted to their care.   


Job Requirements and Qualifications:

The successful candidate must hold either a Bachelor’s Degree in education with a minimum of 4 years teaching experience, or a Higher Teacher’s Certificate with 6 years teaching experience.


  • Excellent knowledge of modern child development theories and practices.

  • Creative and artistic teaching abilities.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Patience.
