BBC Media Action is the international development agency of the BBC, using media and communications to improve people’s lives.  BBC Media Action in Sierra Leone is currently seeking applications for Production Assistant- Radio role.

 

The Production Assistant will work as part of the radio production team – working under the supervision of the Senior Producer on our girls’ empowerment radio programme.

They will research content ideas, set up and conduct interviews, record reports and packages and edit audio. They may also have the opportunity to present programmes. 

As well as editorial assignments, the Production Assistant will be required to support with administrative tasks such as helping with budgets and advance or payment requests – for example to pay contributors or facilitate field travel.

The Production Assistant will be based in the BBC Media Action office in Freetown but some travel to the provinces may be required. 

The role may involve working with vulnerable children and adults. For the successful candidate, mandatory training will be provided on BBC Media Action’s safeguarding policy and staff code of conduct. A police background check may form part of the recruitment process. BBC Media Action operates a zero-tolerance policy concerning all forms of abuse and exploitation of vulnerable people.
