ASA Microfinance (SL) Ltd is a registered company limited by shares and a subsidiary of ASA INTERNATIONAL (ASAI) (www.asa-international). ASAI was established in 2007 with the mission of establishing green-field microfinance institutions in Asia and Africa. ASA International strongly believes that sustainable and profitable business models can be created when focusing on the very poor and can be located in challenging operating environments. In doing so, ASAI is replicating the most cost-effective and scalable model developed in ASA Bangladesh for its sustainability. ASA Sierra Leone has already established 49 branches and plans to open 55 more in the coming years to serve at least 55,000 impoverished families. For better management of its business and to achieve its goal, ASA Microfinance (SL) Ltd is seeking applications from suitable Sierra Leoneans for the position below:

 

Position:  Project Manager

Location: Head Office & Any part of Sierra Leone

 

Job profile

Project Manager is a mid-level position responsible for managing medium to large-sized projects within ASA Microfinance (SL) Ltd. and managing implementation across the country. 

 

Responsibilities

  1. The Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end implementation, including business implementation activities.
  2. Setup of Project Management Governance (PMT, Project Board) for each project, involving, where applicable, IT Streams, Vendors, and country implementation leads, with weekly reporting on status, progress, attention points, and dependencies.
  3. Manage the Risk & Issue log and align issue resolution with vendors, the Branch Readiness Lead, and Senior Management.
  4. Prepare documents, progress reports, and minutes for the Project Board.
  5. Create the delivery planning and migration in alignment with developers and vendors, and monitor progress.
  6. Prepare UAT and Business Implementation plan in alignment with the Branch Readiness lead 
  7. Setting up Project Goals and developing plans to meet those goals.
  8. Set up and manage the Project Document repository.
  9. Utilize project management tools to track project activities.
  10. Manage project stakeholders across the various countries.
  11. Coordination with internal and external parties.

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  2. Relevant Project Management certification like PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile.
  3. Experience of 5 – 10 years in project management.
  4. Experience in medium to large-scale projects with senior management stakeholders across multiple locations.
  5. Not just IT driven; rather, comprehend the requirements and goals of the project concerning the goals of the company.
  6. Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle any issues that occur during project completion.
  7. Proficiency in English, Excellent communication skills, Self-starting attitude, and being culturally sensitive.

Salary 

Negotiable based on job profile and experience.
