Position Summary

In Sierra Leone, Seed Global Health supports two partnership sites in Makeni and Bo with the same goal of strengthening midwifery education and clinical training. Seed partners with the midwifery schools and the Government hospitals in these areas. To support the data collection and monitoring of these programs, Seed is seeking to hire two part-time (2) Data Entry Clerks. These positions will be managed by Seed’s Clinical Advisor in Sierra Leone and directly support data collection and analysis Makeni Regional Hospital and Bo Regional Hospital. This position is for 1 month/quarter.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct data abstraction from patient records at the hospital maternity ward 
• Collate data and help manage the clinical indicator database
• Perform data cleaning and validation to identify errors and missing information
• Collaborate with relevant hospital partners on data collection for the partnership 
• Assist in development and validation of tools for partnership monitoring, including surveys and set up of templates
• Conduct surveys or interviews at the hospitals, when necessary 
• Collaborate with clinical staff and M&E staff at the hospital on data collection and relevant queries 
• Analyze collected data and help identify trends 
• Support the Seed MEL Clinical Advisor in other tasks as necessary 

Qualifications:

• Diploma or higher diploma in basic sciences. Relevant experience in data collection, research, monitoring and evaluation or related fields.
• Strong data collection skills
• Highly competent in excel and other data collection tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Working Conditions

This is a part-time position requiring 1 month of work per quarter. The Data Entry Clerk will be required to work on site at Makeni and Bo Hospital depending on the candidate’s location.

Compensation:

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits are not provided for this part-time position.
