Lan 4 u future is the fifth phase of the McGovern -Dole program in Sierra Leone, fifth phase of the FFE program, running from 2022 to 2025. This program follows on the All Pikin for Lan project. The program aims to; improve literacy of school age children by building teachers and school administrators’ skills and knowledge, by improving teachers’ attendance and their access to school supplies and improved literacy instruction materials.
It is also meant to.
• Improve student attentiveness by increasing access to food and improving nutrition and health practices to reduce hunger and absence.
• Improve student attendance by providing nutritious meals, take home rations and presenting parents with economic incentives and address cultural practices that may be detrimental to school attendance.
WASAP in partnership with WHH and funds from Charity Water is implementing a rural WASH Self Supply project in Bonthe District to improve access to adequate WASH facilities and improve the adoption of nutrition and hygiene and sanitation behaviors in communities, schools and health facilities. This will include the construction of household wells using EMAS technologies, the construction/upgrading of WASH facilities in seven health centers using UNICEF WASH in Health facilities standards, the construction/upgrading of WASH facilities in 5 schools and the promotion of sanitation, hygiene practices and nutrition in communities through sanitation marketing, LANN+ approach and Village, Savings and Loan Associations.

The Rural integrated WASH project which aim to improve both the water and sanitation problem in these two (2) districts (Falaba and Koinadugu District). The project is derived to target both WASH in community and WASH in school in these districts; a total of 12 schools will be benefited with WASH in School facilities. For Falaba district a total of 5 schools will benefit (Mongo 3 and Neya 2), Koinadugu a total of 7 schools (Yagala1, Kasonku 2, Bafodia 1 and Nene 3). WASH In community (CLTS) is focus to improve the sanitation of the community a total of 116 communities will be benefited in which community will take the lead in other to solve their hygiene problem in their communities, which the approach used is (Community Lead Total Sanitation) approach. Triggering is one key approach used during the implementation of CLTS for community to act, this process community will be ignited through the process of triggering.
