Job Description

Concern Worldwide has been working in Sierra Leone since 1996 when it commenced its operations in emergency response, evolving over-time into development activities across the sectors of Health, Education, WASH and Livelihoods, with an emphasis on Safeguarding and Gender Equality. We currently operates in the Districts of Western Area Urban (Freetown), Western Area Rural, Tonkolili, Port Loko and Kambia – as well as remotely in Koinadugu, Falaba, Bombali and Karene.
Concern Worldwide (Concern) is seeking an experienced professional MEAL Consultant or Consultancy firm to support with “MEAL Capacity Strengthening” the Saving Lives in Sierra Leone Phase 3 Project.
MEAL CAPACITY STRENGTHENING – SAVING LIVES IN SIERRA LEONE – PHASE 3 PROJECT |
Summary of the Saving Lives Project in Sierra Leone CWW in Parttnership with SEND-SL Humanity and Inclusion, Hellen Keller International, Wellbodi Patternship and Kings Global Health Patternship is implementing the Saving Lives in Sierra Leone Phase 3 (SLiSL-3) project across 6 districts i.e. Kono, Kenema, Kambia, Bombali, Moyamba and Western Area Urban. The project is aimed at contributing to improving universal health care coverage in Sierra Leone through a holistic health system strengthening approach targeting various stakeholders in Ministry of Health and Community Members. The project will contribute to, increased availability, access and utilization of quality RMNCAH-N services and MOH at the district level has improved capacity to deliver accountable, respectful, responsive and people-centred health services, in accordance with national guidelines. |
Purpose and Scope of the Consultancy |
The overall purpose of the consultancy is to offer MEAL capacity strengthening services to the SLiSL-3 Program team conducting MEAL work on the project and MEAL team including MEAL teams from DHMT and Supported Hospitals across the six districts being supported under the SLiSL-3 project. This will be followed with the designing of accompaniment documents that will be used for continuous knowledge capitalization on various MEAL principles by the MEAL team. |

The consultancy will cover specific MEAL topics as agreed upon with the SLiSL 3 – MEAL Consortium Coordinator. More specifically, the consultancy will cover topics on;
This will be followed with designing of MEAL accompaniment documents for sustainable continuous MEAL knowledge capitalization. N.B: The estimated number of project participants for this training is 40 participants amongst which will include Junior and Senior MEAL staff plus Project Staff (Project Officers at Field Level) conducting MEAL work under the Saving Lives in Sierra Leone Project – Phase 3 |

Roles and Responsibilities |
The CCU MEAL Coordinator will provide overall oversight for this consultancy, ensuring that the consultancy outputs are aligned with the SLiSL-3 objectives. The Consultant will:
