Work & Experience
As an Assistant Safety Manager at Westland Construction, I was responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the company’s occupational health and safety standards across all project sites. My role focused on ensuring that construction activities were carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with both company policies and national safety regulations.
I assisted in conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend practical control measures. Part of my duties included monitoring daily site operations to ensure workers adhered to safety protocols, used personal protective equipment appropriately, and maintained a clean and organized work environment. I also collaborated with site supervisors and contractors to address safety concerns promptly and prevent workplace accidents.
In addition to inspections, I played an active role in safety training and awareness. I helped organize and deliver safety inductions for new employees, refresher courses for existing staff, and toolbox talks to reinforce safe work practices. I also participated in the preparation and updating of safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident records, and training logs.
When incidents or near-misses occurred, I assisted in carrying out investigations to determine root causes and supported the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. I was also involved in coordinating emergency preparedness activities such as fire drills and evacuation exercises, ensuring that emergency procedures were clearly communicated and understood by all site personnel.
Through consistent communication and collaboration with the Safety Manager, project engineers, and foremen, I contributed to strengthening Westland Construction’s safety culture. My efforts helped reduce on-site risks, improve compliance, and promote a work environment where safety remained a shared responsibility among all team members.
As the Office Manager at Westland Construction, I was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations and ensuring the smooth coordination between office and site activities. My role required a balance of organization, communication, and leadership to support both management and field teams in achieving project goals efficiently.
I managed office operations by maintaining accurate records, handling correspondence, and ensuring that all administrative processes were carried out in a timely and professional manner. This included preparing reports, organizing meetings, and maintaining filing systems for project documents, contracts, and employee records. I also supervised office staff, delegated tasks, and ensured that work was completed according to company standards.
Another key part of my role involved coordinating communication between project managers, site supervisors, suppliers, and clients. I ensured that project information flowed smoothly across departments, supporting decision-making and keeping all stakeholders informed. I was also responsible for managing office supplies and logistics—monitoring inventory levels, placing orders, and ensuring that necessary materials were always available to support operations.
In addition, I assisted with financial and HR-related tasks such as tracking expenses, preparing payment requests, processing timesheets, and supporting payroll preparation. I also contributed to onboarding new employees and maintaining staff records in line with company policies.
Throughout my time at Westland Construction, I played an active role in fostering an organized, efficient, and positive work environment. My ability to coordinate multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and support both administrative and operational needs contributed to the overall productivity and professionalism of the company’s operations
