Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University. For 40 years and in over 155 countries, Jhpiego Corporation has been providing technical support to the Ministries of Health in partner countries across the globe for the past 40 years in a variety of technical areas including cervical cancer treatment and prevention, community health, HIV and AIDS, maternal and newborn health, health workforce capacity development in-service, malaria, and IPC/WASH.
In Sierra Leone, Jhpiego supports the Government of Sierra Leone at the national and district level in capacity building and technical assistance to contribute towards improving maternal and newborn and child health. A significant area of focus for our work is accelerating and strengthening the technical and operational capacity of local healthcare workers to reduce maternal and newborn and child deaths and provide quality services
We are currently looking for suitable candidate to fill the following Internal position:
Position: Receptionist
Report To: Senior Administrative and Logistics Officer
Location: Freetown
Job Summary
The receptionist’s duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes guests positively, ensure office is clean, utilities are available, petty cash management and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Front Desk – Reception:
- Provide support to Jhpiego staff in the office and ensure efficient and prompt operation of the reception and front office.
- Manage the office phone
- Maintain a telephone contact list with phone contact information for all Jhpiego partners, stakeholders, and others associated with the program.
- Supervise the cleaners and ensure that the office is neat and clean.
- Ensure cleaning supplies are available
- Promptly receives and assists visitors.
- Ensure that all incoming mail and deliveries are correctly distributed and in a timely manner.

- Maintain office petty cash fund and make payments for small purchases as authorized under the petty cash policies, fully document all petty cash disbursements, and request petty cash replenishment on a timely basis.
- Ensure various deliveries to the office, including newspapers and water, and verify the specific invoices for payment.
- Receiving and monitoring invoices and receipts,
- registering and dispatching invoices and receipts to relevant people
- Provide regular guidance/feedback to the Admin Officer on reception/front office issues. • Follow up suppliers for acknowledgement of the payments and ensure proper receipts are file.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisors
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Required Qualifications:
▪ A high school leaving certificate, diploma in business administration, or Secretarial studies or related field.
▪ At least 3-4 years of progressively responsible experience in Admin Receptionist operations
▪ Experience with US government-funded NGOs a plus
▪ Demonstrated ability to manage the reception area operations in a medium-sized organization
▪ Ability to assess potential administrative problems and advise on preventive measures How to Apply:
