Role : Program Manager
Reporting to : Executive Director
Summary Role Description
The Program Manger will also lead, manage and over see the program operations and ensure that activities are implemented in accordance with GESL’s approach and best practices.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Daily program management throughout the program life cycle; • Defining the program governance (controls);
- Leading the development of and managing the program’s budget; • Innovate programs to adapt to changing ecosystems
- Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements; • Effectively manage programs team
- Managing and utilizing resources across projects;
- Managing stakeholders’ engagements
- Managing MEAL activities
- Leading and managing program documentations
- Lead and supervise fundraising activities
- Manage information and communication activities
Impact
- Improved value delivery throughout the program lifecycle
- Increased partnerships and fundraising opportunities through impactful programming and reporting
- Increased collaboration among stakeholders, fostering a culture of ownership ,shared responsibility for project success and sustainability.
- Optimized allocation of resources
Reporting and Role Management:
The Program Manager will be working closely with the Executive Director and work closely with the finance team of the organization.
Time Commitment and participation
This role is full time.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- BSc/BA in Community Development Studies, Social Work or Project Management or relevant field
- At least 3 year programmatic experience, paid or voluntary.
- A project/ programme management certification would be an added advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office;
- Working knowledge of program/project management software is a strong advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently. • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and to meet short- and long-term deadlines.
- Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
- Knowledge of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning frameworks and processes • Outstanding leadership and managerial skills
- Strong knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures • Excellent problem-solving and solutions orientation ability
- Proactive and innovative in thinking
- Positive mindset and approach to the work

Freetown with periodic monitoring visits up country
