Support Field Staff – Focus -Agriculture and Nutrition – SG 3*
in Pujehun / Kenema
The position is to be filled as soon as possible. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be in Pujehun / Kenema.The position is paid according to local pay grade
Objectives:
To strengthen food and nutrition security among venerable rural households by addressing challenges of climate, food instability and resource scarcity enhancing resilience, and sustainability and inclusive community development
Your responsibilities
- Act as the key point of contact between project participants and the technical team, ensuring effective communication of community needs and feedback.
- Support the design and organization of sector-specific activities to facilitate effective community mobilization.
- Conduct sensitization and motivation sessions to enhance understanding and participation of project beneficiaries in project activities.
- Organize and closely follow up with project participants targeted by the project.
- Prepare and share regular updates and reports on project activities for internal use, community feedback, and relevant partners, in collaboration with the technical team.
- Assist in planning and coordination of trainings and other capacity-building sessions for project participants.
- Conduct surveys and collect project-related data within implementing communities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support development and implementation of project visibility measures and communication channels.
- Assist the technical team in project-related assignments and reporting processes as required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the MEAL Officer and Head of Project in line with project objectives.
Your profile
- B.SC in Agriculture or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in agriculture and/or nutrition programming, preferably within development or humanitarian projects.
- Basic knowledge of climate-smart agriculture, food security, and community-based nutrition practices.
- Experience working with rural and hard-to-reach communities.
- Ability to support farmer groups, women’s groups, and community-level training.
- Good communication skills in English and local languages relevant to the project area.
- Ability to ride a motorbike with a valid driver license and willingness to travel frequently to field locations.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and use of the internet.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team and with diverse stakeholders.
