About Candidate
Peter Koroma is intelligent, smart, and motivated, and he has the necessary practitioner credentials and equivalent experience working to the highest standards. Peter has thirteen (13) successful years of experience working in the health and community development sectors as Country Health Programme Manager—Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) International, Area Manager, and Child Rights Governance Programme Manager. He can be considered a programmeme development expert, health promoter, community engagement advisor, and programmeme management expert. Peter is also a certified member of the Project Management Institute PMI-PMP and Certified Development Programme Manager (CDPM).
Peter is driven by a desire to uplift and ensure that the rights of vulnerable people (women, adolescents/girls, children, and people with disabilities) are realised and protected and that these people have access to knowledge about livelihood, education, and healthcare, with the hope that one day he will bring about change and development initiatives and see a community or nation where everyone has access to these things without any racial discrimination.
With the aforementioned motivation, Peter wanted to work for the UN, which eventually led to his being hired by UNFPA as the current Programme Specialist for Population and Development. Prior to joining UNFPA, Peter worked as Country Programme Manager—Health with Voluntary Service Overseas International (VSO), Area Manager & Child Rights Governance Manager for Save the Children International Sierra Leone, and Programme Manager for Catholic Relief Services (CRS).
