Dear Sir/Madam,
Application for the Position of Logistics and Operations Manager.
Hereby, I apply for the position of Logistics and Operations Manager for which you seek a suitable candidate. Given that my skills set, experience and knowledge base match your requirements, you have the most suitable candidate in me seeking to deliver on the job from the word ‘get go.’
My almost Fourteen (14) years’ experience in Logistics, Supply Chain management, Facilities and Fleet will serve your organisation best.
I hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Project Management with a BSc. Degree in Education (Economics Major) with extensive hands-on trainings in Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain, Fleet, Facilities and Travel Logistics that has benefited institutions that I have served and improved their systems in the process.
Few of the highlights from my career to date are.
In my current role, I serve as the Logistics Assistant managing the warehouse for UNICEF in Sierra Leone where I have so far managed receiving and distribution with all other warehouse functions impeccably.
In my recent role, as Logistics Manager for EBOVAC, I managed project critical Supply Chain processes not limited to, Solar Maintenance, Cold Chain supply and maintenance of related equipment. I managed Eleven Project Vehicles, Fifteen (15) Generators, Six Different Facilities in Mambolo, Rokuprr and Kambia. I played key role in the tender process and award of contracts for construction of Laboratory facilities and supply of equipment critical to the success of the Clinical Research Project. The latest is the purchase and installation of Two (2) 200KVA Generators to cater for our expanding needs of the Trial Project and future Kambia Research Centre.
As Logistics Manager at MSF Spain, I managed the fleet of vehicles to a point that there was never a vehicle breakdown on the road. That high performance did not however compromise my other functions of Facilities, Procurement of spares for vehicles and non-motorized equipment, tender, award and monitoring of construction contracts, and staff management.
As Logistics officer at Welthungerhilfe, I maintained a high level of transparency and negotiations skills in numerous Tender processes for the Construction of 20 Peripheral Health Units in Kenema and Kailahun Districts. This same level I maintained in the procurement of works for the construction of the Chocolate Factory in Kenema, construction of Six (6) Classroom buildings, with toilets, hand dug water well in Segbwema, Njegbelu and Falawandu communities in Kailahun and Kenema Districts respectively.
In every position I have held, I have performed to the best of my ability, owing to my ardent communication skills both orally and in written. To meet the demands of the job, I ensure that a day’s task is completed before sundown.
Yours faithfully,
Philip Ishmael Vandy
