About Candidate
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Development and Economics bias and a Teachers` Certificate General, Certificate in Community Development Studies with specialty in Project Planning and Management and Micro Enterprise. I have served in various capacities as Bombali District Coordinator, Regional Coordinator- North, Assistant Social Welfare Coordinator, Humanitarian Values Coordinator and Coordinator Food Security and Livelihood in the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society.
I have engaged communities in Farmer Field school (FFS) activities, training of community members (groups) in Village Savings and Loan (VSL) activities. During my tenure as Program Coordinator with the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society at District level, I represented the organization in inter-agency fora, establishing and nurturing good working relationship with government line ministries (Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Food Security, Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs, Ministry of Health and Sanitation, local and international organizations and local councils with similar goals).
Furthermore, I have also developed project proposals for the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society as a means of Resource Mobilization which was approved and funded by European Union (EU), Plan Sierra Leone, UNICEF (established Day Care & Nursery school and Henry Dunant Primary School Bombali District). Writing end of activity narrative and financial reports to donors formed part of my responsibilities.
As a Coordinator for the Food Security and Livelihood project in eight districts (Bombali, Tonkolili, Port Loko, Kambia, Kono, Kailahun, Pujehun and Koinadugu) implemented by the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) with funds provided by the Japanese Government and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), I provided training on leadership and Communication skills, mobilization and technical agricultural issues for farmers and team members. Sensitize communities on Farmers Field School (FFS) methodology, improved crop production and animal husbandry, post-harvest losses and market structures, review and monitor community activities at districts operational level, ensuring compliance and ensuring that organization`s core values are adhered to.
