About Candidate
Aiah Gbakima is an ambitious professional with a focus on economics and finance. Having completed a Bachelor of Science in Economics at the University of Sierra Leone and as a graduating student and an Honours Diploma in Software Engineering – Python Programming at the College of Digital Excellence, Aiah is well-versed in both economic principles and technical skills.
Aiah has bolstered his financial expertise by obtaining the Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) certificate from the Corporate Finance Institute, preparing himself for a career in finance. This he backed up with a certification in AI Career Essentials from the African Leadership Group.
His academic excellence is evident from his outstanding performance in national examinations. In 2019, he achieved the highest national result in the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Sierra Leone, followed by the second-best national result in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 2016.
To further develop his leadership skills, Aiah joined the Souls of Africa leadership club in 2018 and earned certification from the Aspire Institute’s Leaders’ Program in collaboration with Harvard Business School. Concurrently, he serves as the General Secretary of the Youth Department at the principal church of the Presbyterian Convention of Sierra Leone.
Aiah further held the position of Project Coordinator at the Economics and Commerce Society, Fourah Bay College. Additionally, he actively engages in professional networking through his membership in The Room Fellowship, a virtual platform; and he also serves as the Administrative Secretary of Students Against Corruption – Sierra Leone (SAC-SL) underscoring his passion for a corrupt-free society starting with the educational institutions.
He is currently an agent of the BnB Money Transfer in Sierra Leone facilitating international and local money transfers.
