I am a highly skilled and experienced public health professional with over 10 years of expertise in Health Systems Strengthening, implementing development programs, and providing strategic policy advice to enhance public health systems. I have a proven track record in leading cross-functional teams, fostering partnerships, and driving results in challenging environments. My experience includes representing organizational interests, coordinating with government bodies, and ensuring compliance with public health standards.
Throughout my career with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS), I led Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) for U.S. Government (USG)-funded programs for four years and for Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)-funded programs for an additional two years. I have the capability to support the quick and effective detection and response to disease outbreaks and other health burdens through an integrated network, including preparedness and response, surveillance, laboratory work, and research programs.
I played a key role in the response to the Ebola Virus outbreak, spearheading the rollout of electronic systems to monitor cases both locally (eCBDS) and nationally (SLEDS). My experience spans all levels of the health system, from the national and district levels to direct work as a healthcare provider. My skills include conducting studies and evaluations in health and nutrition, using DHIS2 data to analyze clusters and trends in communicable diseases and important medical conditions.
I hold a diploma and a master’s degree in Epidemiology, as well as Professional Diplomas in Community and Tropical Medicine. Additionally, I have supported the development and implementation of studies and policies aimed at the prevention, treatment, and ultimate elimination of communicable diseases at both the national and community levels in Sierra Leone.
