Education
I chose a Master of Commerce at the University of Cape Town because it gave me rigorous training in economic, financial, and strategic analysis grounded in real-world African contexts. UCT’s academic depth and regional relevance equipped me to make better, evidence-based decisions in complex public and private sector environments.
I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Statistics to build a strong foundation in data analysis, probability, and quantitative reasoning for evidence-based decision-making. It trained me to turn complex data into clear insights that inform strategy, policy, and real-world problem-solving.
Work & Experience
In my role as Senior Regional Manager at CHAI, I oversee an annual investment of up to USD 15 million across malaria and NTD programs in 4 countries, Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Uganda, leading strategic planning, donor engagement, and program implementation. I support government counterparts in identifying funding gaps, reallocating resources, such as achieving USD 6 million in savings through Global Fund reprioritization in Mozambique; and aligning operational budgets. I provide technical guidance on work planning, monitoring and evaluation, and ensure quality deliverables across regions. My work involves fostering cross-team collaboration, measuring program impact, and facilitating knowledge sharing to maintain consistency in technical and operational support. I also lead the development of concept notes, donor proposals, and financial and programmatic reports to sustain and strengthen CHAI’s malaria efforts in Southern Africa.
As Strategic Information and Evaluation Manager at Baylor College of Medicine Lesotho, I led all monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities for a USAID-funded TB/HIV/AIDS program, developing a donor-approved MEL framework and electronic SIE system to enhance data collection and use. I designed MEL tools, conducted rapid assessments, and documented best practices, while also training and mentoring district and site-level staff. I supported the Project Director with performance monitoring plans aligned with national and donor standards and supervised a team of over 30 staff to implement a culture of continuous learning and data-driven decision-making
As Program Manager for Health Financing & Nutrition at CHAI Lesotho, I led strategic initiatives to advance universal health coverage by supporting the Ministry of Health on critical financing reforms. I spearheaded a national budget absorption study that mobilized multiple ministry departments and donors, resulting in actionable recommendations to improve health budget execution. I also conducted a high-level assessment on malnutrition interventions that directly informed World Bank investment planning. Additionally, I secured a 2-year UNICEF grant to map social services for adolescents and youth and led a formative study on PrEP implementation, contributing evidence to shape national HIV prevention strategies.
As an Associate in Paediatric HIV Data Analytics at CHAI Lesotho, I led data analysis for program performance, conducted M&E audits, developed strategic information products, and introduced dashboards to enhance data use across partners. You also supported ARV quantification and contributed to the national PrEP M&E framework development.
At JPAL–IPA Zambia, I led the design and implementation of randomized evaluations and policy research focused on governance and service delivery. I successfully managed a $500,000 research portfolio, oversaw a team of 30 field staff, and built strong partnerships with key stakeholders including USAID, the University of Chicago, Caritas Zambia, and the National Assembly. Notably, I designed and implemented an RCT involving 2,000 participants to assess the effectiveness of citizen scorecards in holding elected officials accountable, and piloted a behavioral economics study on sanitation incentives in peri-urban Lusaka. My leadership ensured timely, ethical, and high-quality research delivery that informed national dialogue on civic engagement and urban development.
At Mthente Research & Consulting Services, I led the design and execution of high-impact research and evaluation projects across trade, productivity, and industrial policy. I served as lead researcher on a national market gap analysis commissioned by the Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa, identifying regulatory and institutional constraints in export finance. I also developed productivity indicators for the Western Cape Fisheries Sector and evaluated the Department of Trade’s Manufacturing Investment Program, delivering actionable insights that informed policy and investment decisions. My work consistently translated complex data into strategic recommendations for public and private sector clients.
As Senior Statistician at the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency under the Ministry of Finance, I led the design, management, and implementation of large-scale national surveys and economic data collection efforts. I oversaw annual project budgets of up to USD 2 million, ensured rigorous data quality and adherence to methodological standards, and produced high-impact statistical reports that informed national planning and economic policy. My leadership contributed to improved reliability and timeliness of official statistics, strengthening the evidence base for macroeconomic decision-making and donor engagement.
As a Statistician at the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency, I led the production of key national economic statistics and successfully revived the publication of critical reports, such as the National Volume of Manufacturing Index and the National Census of Industrial Production, which had lapsed for two years. I managed end-to-end processes including data collection, analysis, and publication, and trained over 30 staff in best practices for data handling. My work significantly improved the agency’s data quality and output consistency, directly supporting national economic planning and performance monitoring.
