As a Laboratory Chemist/Vector Laboratory Technician, I analyze the vector control data collected for the United States President Malaria Initiative (PMI) in Sierra Leone. The results of my analysis and the reports I prepare are used by the National Malaria Control Program to guide vector control strategies in Sierra Leone. With the PMI Evolve project. I do field collection of malaria-transmitting mosquitoes, Anopheles gambiae, and rearing them, maintaining the susceptible mosquito colony of Anopheles gambiae Kisumu strain in the insectary Laboratory.
I am a dedicated Laboratory Technician at Sierra Leone Brewery Limited with over four (3) years of experience in conducting chemical, physical, and microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Records test results and observations accurately, maintaining thorough documentation in compliance with industry regulations and quality management systems, and operates, calibrates, and maintains lab equipment (e.g., HPLC, and spectrophotometers) to ensure they function properly and deliver accurate results. Proven ability to accurately collect, record, and analyze data. Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and precision in results.
