Waterloo Solar Power Plant – WISP

General mission

Innovent Sierra Leone is seeking a Multi-Skilled Assistant to join its construction team for the WISP Solar Power Plant project in Waterloo; an ambitious project aiming to produce 30 MW night and day clean energy featuring cutting-edge technology, energy storage and black-start solutions.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction process, ensuring that all site activities are executed in accordance with the project’s schedule, budget, quality and safety standards. Your role will also involve topographic surveys and mapping, as well as collaborating

with other stakeholders such as local sub-contractor and Innovent France head office to ensure a smooth transition into operations.

The ideal candidate will handle the electrical verification during the construction phase ensuring that all site electrical activities are executed in accordance with the project’s schedule, quality and safety standards, and will be trained and promoted post-construction to lead maintenance teams in Sierra Leone and potentially across other regional projects.

His role will also involve collaborating with Innovent France head office.

General missions

Construction site manager and surveyor

  • Project, quality, budget and safety management;
  • Surveying and geometric control for equipment implantation.

Maintenance team manager

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of maintenance technicians;
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities;
  • Monitor system performance in collaboration with French engineers;
  • Plan and manage spare parts and equipment stock;
  • Draft reports and support training of new maintenance staff.

 

Desired profile

Skills

  • Degree in civil engineering, surveying or related field;
  • Experience as a construction site manager or surveyor;
  • Strong understanding of project management, civil engineering technique and safety practices;
  • Multi-technique interest (civil engineering, electricity, solar et cetera);
  • Proficiency in office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word et cetera);
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills;
  • French skills appreciated;
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning and initiative-taking abilities;
  • Driving licence.

 

Conditions

  • Start date : ASAP ;
  • Fixed-term contract for six (6) months, renewable.
  • Hybrid position between the Imatt office and the Waterloo construction site.
    Provision of a means of transportation. Position 100% based in Waterloo starting in March
