Country Office
A GIZ Country Office is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring administrative activities to ensure the proper functioning of GIZ’s programs and projects within the framework of GIZ’s Processes and Rules (P+R). It provides a range of services including financial management, procurement of services and goods and is responsible for all types of project audits. Additionally, the office handles various logistical processes such as vehicle registration, customs clearance, and travel arrangements. It aims to streamline operations and improve operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and standards.
We are advertising the position of “Digitalization Partner”
- Task Description/requirement Profile
- Responsible to increase the efficiency of processes and enable effectiveness of service provision in compliance with GIZ rules and local regulations.
- Responsible for organizational consulting and on-site training.
- Serves as the main contacts for digital transformation, information management, IT security, and data protection.
- Manage GIZ internal matters and local digital infrastructure and help expand the digital network.
- Help users with GIZ digital systems like M365 and DMS.
- Guide future digital solutions from headquarters and advise on IT tools with GIZ partners.
- Serves the main contacts for implementing IDA and building a network focused on IDA. Countries and IDA.
- Provide advice on handling information according to rules (P+R) and laws.
- Work with IT Professionals and understand office processes, collect needs for digitizing analogy processes, and recommend necessary updates.
- Responsibilities: The areas of responsibilities are as follows
Digital Transformation – Digital Literacy and Security – Data Protection – Information Management – Cloud Applications – Internal IT Processes
For the above-mentioned areas, the Digitalization Partner is focal point for country offices and projects within the country.
- Promotes and supports knowledge transfer through and implementation of training courses, workshops and exchange formats compliant within areas of duty.
- Stay up to date with new digital solutions, ongoing networking, and active exchange with DIGITS/Global IT Services.
- Coordinate with headquarters/DIGITS to disseminate key aspects of digital transformation and best practices to GIZ employees in your country.
- Multiplier of internal digital transformation and digital solutions, such as the LSS S4GIZ.
- Creates content for multi-channel communication to end-users.
- Provides an onboarding for new staff on digital aspects and awareness.
- Sensitize colleagues for the application of classification and labelling, e.g. in the context of events.
- Coordinates with the Information Security Officer and IT Professional on common areas related to ISMS.
- Advises end-users on tools/applications and platforms compliant within areas of duty.
- Consults on compliant use of central document management systems (OpenText, DMS/Microsoft 365) for end-users.
- First point of contact and multiplier in the country for standard questions on the application of classification and labelling of information.
- First point of contact for basic data protection and privacy topics. Make sure end-user5 get clear information about these processes and know who to contact in GIZ for more help.
- Stay informed about GIZ data protection processes by engaging in the available channels, such as Microsoft Teams and regular meetings given by HQ.
- Translates DIGITS recommendations into presentations and decision papers for end-users6.
- First point of contact relating to information that is subject to mandatory retention for end-users.
- Ad hoc tasks in the daily country office business in the areas of duty

- Required qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications
- BA/BSC in ICT, or other related Field (with a focus on ICT management, Database Administration and Architects , Information Security Analysts) or similar area.
- Master’s degree in ICT is an added advantage
Professional experience
- At least 5 years professional experience in a similar position.
Other knowledge, additional competences
- Interest in data protection. Basic knowledge and experience with data protection is desired.
- Understanding of cybersecurity policies and practices to ensure safe and secure digital environments is desired.
- Skills in managing and developing digital infrastructure, including high-speed internet and telecommunication systems is desired or previous experience in information is desired.
- Clearly and concisely communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Translate technical jargon into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure everyone understands the digital transformation process and its benefits.
- Build relationships and foster collaboration across different departments with strong interpersonal skills.
- Independent and structured way of working as well as a sense of responsibility paired with the ability to work in a team.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyze potential solutions, and implement effective strategies.
- Use critical thinking to evaluate the impact of digital initiatives.
- Make informed decisions that align with the GIZ and DIGITS’s goals.
- Good prioritization skills to balance key priorities.
- Competent in both, written and verbal, English language.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Including Microsoft 365.
- Advanced SharePoint Skills.
