Job Description

A reputable mining company in Sierra Leone is advertising the following position

POSITION: Heavy Duty Mechanics (Excavators, Bulldozers, Loaders)

ROLE: In charge of operating an excavator. Daily tasks may involve general maintenance, adhering to safety protocols and maneuvering the machinery in line with site plans.

EDUCATION: High School

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years.

Key Duties Include:

– Diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, and drivetrains: Troubleshooting issues and performing routine maintenance.
– Performing inspections and tests: Conducting routine inspections and tests to identify problems.
– Repairing and replacing parts: Replacing worn or damaged parts, such as brakes, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
– Maintaining and repairing heavy equipment: Working on equipment like cranes, bulldozers, and excavators.

– Conducting routine maintenance: Performing tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
– Using specialized tools and equipment: Operating equipment like hydraulic presses, lathes, and welding machines.
– Collaborating with other technicians: Working with other mechanics and technicians to diagnose and repair complex issues.
