Technical Agronomist / Deputy Head of Project SG 5* 

in Pujehun / Kenema 

The position is to be filled as soon as possible. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be in Pujehun / Kenema.The position is paid according to local pay grade. 

Objectives: 

To strengthen food and nutrition security among venerable rural households by addressing challenges of climate, food instability and resource scarcity enhancing resilience, and sustainability and inclusive community development. 

Your responsibilities 

  1. Provide technical leadership and guidance for project implementation, including overall operational planning across project locations. 
  2. Coordinate with relevant line ministries and government departments, representing the project at both administrative and technical levels. 
  3. Supervise field teams and lead capacity-building efforts, including trainings and sensitization activities in remote and hard-to-reach communities. 
  4. Support proposal development by contributing technical input, field data, and strategic insights for new funding opportunities. 
  5. Compile and submit high-quality monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reports to management and donors, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness

Your profile 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy or a related field

Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in agronomy, preferably within development and/or humanitarian organizations

Demonstrated experience working with remote and rural communities

Ability to effectively ride a motorbike, with a valid license

Strong written and spoken communication skills in English

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, as well as effective use of the internet.
