PUBLIC TENDER NOTICE
SALE OF TWO USED SPEED BOATS
The Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) invites interested individuals, organizations, and companies to submit sealed bids for the purchase of two used speedboats located at the SLRCS First Aid Post (FAP), Aberdeen Beach, Freetown. The speedboats are in active service, and the SLRCS seeks to dispose of them through this public tender.
- General Specifications:
- Length: Around 17 feet (5.2 meters).
- Beam (width): Typically around 6.3 feet (1.9 meters).
- Draft (hull): A Shallow draft is desirable for operation in various water conditions.
- Weight: Can vary, but a boat of this size might weigh between 1,200 to 1,800 pounds dry, according to Ingman Marine.
- Seating Capacity: Specifically designed for 17 passengers, offering ample space and seating arrangements.
- Horsepower: Powered by a high-horsepower engine (outboard or stern drive) for speed and performance.
- Hull Material: Often fiberglass or composite construction for strength and durability.

CONDITIONS OF SALE:
- Interested bidders must collect the bidding document by paying a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE of SLE 250.00 (Two Hundred and Fifty Leones) per item.
- Each item would be awarded to the highest bidder. In case of having more than two bidders quoting the same price, the lot will be opened for a rebid between those who provide the same bid price.
- All items are to be sold on an “as is, where is and what is” basis and without recourse or warranties of any kind.
- All bid prices must be in Sierra Leone New Leones (SLE).
- A bidder can bid for one item or both. Each bid should be in a separate envelope.
- Bid form should be completed for EACH item.
- Bids not properly addressed, without using the official bid forms or submitted after the stated deadline will be invalidated.
- Bids should be delivered no later than 4:00 pm each day. The bid should be in a sealed envelope and “Tender for Used Speedboats”, and could be submitted to our Head Quarter Office, 6 Liverpool Street, Freetown.
- A bid proposal/document completed with a pencil will automatically be rejected.
- Prospective bidders can inspect the items effective 3rd July, 2025 to the 22nd July, 2025 between 10:00 a.m. to 03:00 pm Monday to Friday. Items are located at the SLRCS First Aid Post (FAP), Aberdeen Beach, Freetown.
- Bid documents can be collected on working days from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at SLRCS Head Quarters office, 6 Liverpool Street, Freetown, effective 3rdJuly, 2025 up to the 22nd July, 2025.
- The deadline for bid submission is 4:00 pm on the 24th July, 2025. Bids submitted after this deadline will not be considered. All bids must be registered on the registration or submission sheet at the time of delivery.
- Bids should be valid for 45 days from the date of submission deadline.
- Bid winners are required to pay for items within ten (10) working days after notification.
- Notified winners who fail to pay for the item won within the required working days (see clause 14 above) will forfeit the item, and it will be offered to the next highest bidder.
- Proof of 100% payment of the bid amount will be required before any speedboat is released to the successful bidder.
- Successful bidders must lift items within five (5) working days from the day payment is made.
- Sierra Leone Red Cross Society shall not provide any assistance, either mechanical or manpower, for the removal of the items from its compound.
- After the sale, the successful bidder shall be fully responsible for ownership, including applicable fees for transfer of ownership, all taxes, and duties.
- Electronic submission (email) of completed forms is NOT allowed.
- Payment should be made to the SLRCS account through transfers, cheques, or direct deposit.
- Winners will be given the bank details through the notification letter.

- Proof of financial capability to complete the purchase.
- Proposed bid price for each speedboat.
- Any other relevant documents supporting the bid.

- Sierra Leone Red Cross Society reserves the right to accept or reject any or all the offers without assigning any reason whatsoever, and is not bound to accept incomplete Bids.
