BACKGROUND
N’domakeh Federation was established in 2007 in Kailahun District as a Community Based Organization through the support of ChildFund Sierra Leone. We work with partners and other community support structures to help families care for their children. Through effective partnership with ChildFund and other partners, our work has impacted on children and families not only in Kailahun District but also in Kenema and Kono Districts.
Child protection is the central theme of N’domakeh Federation works. Therefore, N’domakeh has a wide array of programmes (education, health, food security, WASH, Household Economic Strengthening, Early Childhood Development, Advocacy, Disaster Risk Reduction, Emergency Response etc.) which support children, families, and communities to ensure that children are protected in their interactive environment. We have been able to achieve these in mobilizing and building capacities of communities. To deepen our work in preventing and responding to Child abuse cases, N’domakeh Federation through ChildFund

JOB Description for Project Assistant
The Program Assistant is responsible for implementing and monitoring of all Project/Sponsorship activities in collaboration with Program Officer. In addition, the Program Assistant will oversee Sponsorship activities in communities that we serve and provide support to the Program Officer in the development of strategic plan, Project Design Document and Federation Strategies. .
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Enhanced strong and effective program
- Ensured activities are carried out in a timely manner
- Maintain and use updated data on all children, including enrolled and sponsored
- Work with families and their volunteers to address issues pertaining to Sponsor relation policies, operations and concern/ challenges
- Support Children and families to respond to SR correspondences in a timely manner.
- Identify and/or implement innovative program approach to promote spontaneous correspondences.
- Network of Children of children, youth and parents exist in promoting SR work and participation.
- Effective and efficient tracking strategies and tools are in place, and are used professionally.
- Monitor and report on the payment of Designated Fund Certificate to Children (DFC)
- Conduct home visit at least twice every month and make report available to the Sponsorship and Programs Coordinator.
Program quality, Learning, Sustainability and impact
- Participate in the development Communities action plan in accordance with the Area Strategic Plans, PDD and grant portfolios.
- Ensure that families implement the community level plan in a timely and quality manner
- Report on interventions is prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
- Participate in capacity building processes for personal growth and step- down- to families.
- Support children and youth to organise and maintain functional groups
- Support children and youth groups in the implementation of planned activities.
- Identify and report on opportunities to local partnership with other agencies and individuals.
- Monthly Monitoring of SR and programs activities implementations
- Coordinate lesson learnt from monitoring and evaluation of the federation program portfolio Supervise the Volunteers on sponsorship management
- Monitor SR KPIs and quota management.
Building relationships with child and youth agencies and programme at association level
- Identify and build relationships with community structures, youth and children’s group
- Provide guidance and maintain frequent communications with federation and various associations.
- Participate in Community Engagement.
- Represent the LPs in sector meetings
- Develop ideas and project for formal collaboration with targeted development agencies and research organizations.
- Take lead role in the payment of DFCs
Children are well protected, represented and accounted for
- Community understand ChildFund sponsorship model.
- Communities understand the CRA and ChildFund/Ndomakeh policy and guidelines on child protection
- Support communities in developing community action plan on child safeguarding
- Ensure quality child and youth development activities.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
N’domakeh Federation seeks a highly committed and adaptable individual with a record of accomplishment for delivering quality results with limited resources and experience of working in remote communities. The individual must be able to function independently and flexibly in a swift manner.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Qualifications : Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
- A qualification or its equivalent from a reputable institution/university plus 5 years of experience working in similar sector.
- Minimum Educational level required: Higher Teachers Certificate in Communication Studies, Information Studies or any related field.
- Technical Training qualifications required: Professional technical skill desired Certificate in Information Systems and Knowledge Management
- Experience: 3 years of practical experience in Publishing and Information Systems Management, report writing and publications field
Other: Computer skills and database management skills
Document review and report writing skills are preferred.
