JOB TITLE: Information Technology and Sound Technician (Officer Level)
LOCATION: Freetown but requires travel
REPORTS TO: Senior Projects Manager
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Staff contract| Part-time (3 days a week) | Six-month duration with possibility of an upgrade to a full-time position and a longer contract

About the role
This role combines information, communication and technology with sound production for media. The technician takes responsibility for all ICT related matters and ICT asset management in the Sierra Leone office. They will also be supporting the production teams and media partners with sound recording, editing and equipment maintenance. Information security and data protection are a core function of the role. The key responsibilities include managing all IT systems, configuration of bespoke organizational systems, inventory and asset management, running the in-country service desk, collaborate with global IT teams and looking after other ICT and audio production needs of the country office.

We’re looking for a team player who combines strong technical expertise and experience with excellent interpersonal skills and good client orientation. The nature of the work we do requires a lot of flexibility, passion, and willingness to collaborate and learn new skills. This is even more important for this role as it will be directly supporting our different units and departments to deliver work across projects. The following specific requirements and competencies are required to effectively deliver this role:
- Professional knowledge of ICT with accredited training/certification, combined with substantial work experience in reputable institutions.
- A good understanding of the global information technology ecosystem and awareness of trends, information security and emerging challenges in the industry.
- Professional knowledge of world-class ICT and sound production software and hardware.
- Ability to work with ICT service management systems
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) across all levels—with staff and partners.
- Ability to plan and organize, manage relationships and be self-driven and take initiatives. And yes! Professionalism and integrity.
