• Prepare weekly programmes and submit them to the Head of Project;
• Maintain close and positive relations with the local community, chiefdom and district authorities, and collaborate closely with other stakeholders in local development in general, and with those involved in food and nutrition security and environmental protection in particular
• Play an active role in all meetings organised by the Head of Project and in the organisation and delivery of training sessions;
• Contribute to the collection of baseline/endline data as well as progress data and other information as part of the programme’s monitoring and evaluation system;
• In collaboration with agricultural extension officers/agronomists, provide training to recipient farmers/FBOs on techniques for developing market-oriented agriculture;
• Help organise training sessions and internal experience-sharing visits between farmers living in close proximity to one another;
• Provide training to farmers on agricultural techniques appropriate to the crops promoted by the project;
• Provide technical and governance support to the project’s recipient FBOs in applying agricultural techniques to increase market-oriented agricultural production;
• Support the production, multiplication and distribution of high-quality seeds (school gardens and FBOs);
• Produce monthly field reports (data collection from producers, compilation and submission);
• Help to promote the protection, gender and accountability approach in all activities carried out as part of the project;
• Support the FBOs in planning production contracts between the FBOs, WFP/schools and the respective forums;
• Formulate recommendations for improving the initiative and its implementation methods;
• Participate in the development of an action plan for the various partners;
•  Promote nutritious and variable diet in the targetted schools and their surrounding;
• Support identification and criteria for Schools of Excellence, eestablishing of 20 low-cost climate-smart and nutritious school gardens using locally available resources and practical approaches;
• Promote simple sustainability initiatives, including composting, fruit tree planting (mango, banana, jackfruit, avocado,…) where feasible and maintenance of clean and healthy school environments.
• Supports the Monitors for School Canteens in the overall monitoring and project implementation when feasible, as agreed with the Head of Project.

Your profile

• Diploma in Agriculture, Professional/ formal qualification: Vocational training, vocational school, on-the-job training or relevant professional experience in agronomy
• Job-related professional experience:1 to 2 years’ professional experience
• Foreign language skills -Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken, knowledge of Mende language is a strong asset
