Street Child of Sierra Leone (SCoSL) is part of the broader Street Child Global. Established in 2008, Street Child of Sierra Leone was established in Sierra Leone during the aftermath of the country’s brutal civil war, which left many children displaced, orphaned, or living on the streets.

Street Child of Sierra Leone’s initial focus was helping street-connected children in the urban communities by reintegrating them into the safety of their families and enrolling them in school. Over time, the organization expanded to rural and hard-to-reach areas, where education was either inaccessible or severely limited. In these communities, Street Child has provided vital support through the construction of schools, teacher training, child protection, and livelihood support to ensure children can access quality education.

Street Child of Sierra Leone aims to create sustainable change by addressing the root causes of poverty and lack of education through partnerships with the government, local organisations, and communities. Today, Street Child of Sierra Leone is one of the leading organisations working in Sierra Leone to ensure every child has the opportunity to go to school and learn, impacting thousands of lives across the country.
