Job Title Finance Assistant Intern

Grade 4

Job Profile 

The post-holder will be responsible for supporting CAFOD’s Finance & Admin team with day-to-day administrative & finance tasks. Specific responsibilities are outlined below but broadly involve internal system and processes support, information management and logistics. The position will be full time and based in Freetown in Sierra Leone.

Reporting to:

This position reports to the Finance and Admin Manager. The post holder will have no line management responsibility. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Finance & Admin Manager in raising payments requests and payments vouchers. 
  • Ensure that all supporting documents submitted for payments are correct and accurate.
  • Printing, scanning, and filing as needed and as directed by the line manager. 
  • Assist the Finance & Admin Manager in coordinating and planning of logistics for field trips, workshops and meetings as needed.
  • Take and share meeting minutes, especially Monday morning meeting minutes.
  • Completing Webpromise tasks, including raising approvals, and payments to partners and information management.
  • Upload project documents onto SharePoint and link back to Webrooms as appropriate.
  • Support in budget management, including updating budget vs. actual and organizing supporting documents

Job-specific competencies

  1. Recognized professional with accounting qualification; Minimum BA Degree in Accounting/Business Administration or related field.
  2. Strong analytical, critical thinking, coordination and writing skills.  

III. Full working knowledge of English.

 

Desirable Criteria

Excellent computer skills, including full working knowledge of standard word processing and spreadsheet packages.
