VACANCY NOTICE 

Trocaire, the overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland, is looking for a highly  qualified professional to work together with our partners to bring about positive and lasting changes  around women’s empowerment issues in Sierra Leone. Candidates are invited to apply for the vacant  post, whose particulars are given below: 

Job Title: Programme Support Officer – Sierra Leone (PSO) Location of position: Freetown, Sierra Leone 

Contract duration: Fixed Contract for 1 year and is based in Freetown, Sierra Leone Scope of the role: 

Are you energised by the thought of working in an organisation that supports people and communities to  tackle the root causes of poverty and injustice? Then Trocaire wants to hear from you! The Programme Support Officer will play a vital role in supporting the effective delivery and administration  of Trócaire’s programmes on a day-to-day basis. Based in Freetown, the nationally contracted PSO will  engage in regular travel to the districts. For the candidate with the required experience and passion for  the role, Trócaire offers a competitive package of salary and benefits. 

Requirement 

  • A bachelor’s degree in development studies, Administration, Gender Studies, Social Work,  Agriculture or a related field. 
  • At least one year of relevant work experience for I/NGOs or development organisations or  implementation of development programmes. 
  • At least two years’ experience in project administration and finances. 
  • Knowledge and experience in one of Trócaire’s programmatic areas: women’s economic  empowerment, women’s social and political empowerment, SGBV prevention and response,  humanitarian response. 
  • Experience in report writing and development of case studies. 
  • Knowledge and experience with humanitarian/emergency preparedness programming  desired
