Internship Opportunity
Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University. For 40 years and in over 155 countries, Jhpiego Corporation has been providing technical support to the Ministries of Health in partner countries across the globe for the past 40 years in a variety of technical areas including cervical cancer treatment and prevention, community health, HIV and AIDS, maternal and newborn health, health workforce capacity development (both Pre-service and in-service), family planning, malaria, and IPC/WASH.
The following is available for immediate filling:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support to Jhpiego Procurement
The Procurement Intern will work closely with the Procurement Manager, Admin & Logistics Officer, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective support is provided on all required aspects. This includes –
- Assist in the registration of new vendors.
- Vendor pre-qualification reviews and evaluation.
- Reach out to potential vendors.
- Scan and upload prequalified vendor details.
- Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Archive of procurement files online.
- Assist in asset verification.
- Physical inventory count and verification.
- Any other task assigned by the supervisor.
- Compliance and Ethics
Assist in implementing rules & regulations for all procurements including identifying and analyzing compliance risk in the prequalification processes through: -Implementing due diligence for suppliers including conducting:
- Physical business address Check
- reference checks,
- supplier visits etc.
- business documents check.
- compliance with regulations check (NRA, NASSIT & City Council).
- Check product origin for imported supplies.
- Reporting
The Procurement Assistant (Intern) will prepare and submit an accurate weekly report of activities.
Required Qualifications
Recent graduate with a BSc in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
