RECRUITMENT OF A LAWYER – COUNSEL 

For I) Provide legal assistance against any litigation arising during SOLTHIS  operations in Sierra Leone; II) Represent and defending SOLTHIS before all Courts  of Law of Sierra Leone, and III) Negotiate and reply legal notices and help SOLTHIS  in sorting out issues out of courts.

  1. Context and justification

SOLTHIS is an international solidarity NGO whose objective is to improve prevention and  access to quality care by strengthening the health systems and services of the countries  where it operates. Solthis places its action within a sustainable development approach in  order to address public health challenges in the long term in countries with limited resources.  SOLTHIS has been registered in Sierra Leone since 2011, with a permanent office in Freetown  and two (2) sub-offices respectively in Makeni and Bo with 26 employees of which 22 are  national and 4 expatriates. 

SOLTHIS is inviting proposals from qualified individuals to provide legal support and advise  relevant to the implementation of its operations in Sierra Leone. 

  1. Scope of work

▪ Provide legal assistance against any litigation arising during SOLTHIS operations in  Sierra Leone; 

▪ Represent and defending SOLTHIS before all Courts of Law of Sierra Leone for the  cases filed by the SOLTHIS against employee, consultants, suppliers, sub-contractors as the case may be, etc. or vice-versa; 

▪ Negotiate and reply legal notices and help SOLTHIS in sorting out issues out of courts. 

  1. Time duration

The duration of Advisory Services shall not exceed twelve (12) months and shall be subject  to renewal after elapse of the defined duration. 

  1. Qualifications/Experience required

▪ Bachelor of Law Degree from a recognized Sierra Leonean University/Institution 

▪ At least 10 years practicing experience in the High Court, Preference will be given to  those who have registration with the Supreme Court Bar

▪ Experience with International Non-Government Organizations and Public Sector  Entities  

▪ List of cases of Reported Judgments 

  1. Terms and conditions

Offer: Make a proposal for fees based on a lump sum payment for each service requested by  the Client.  

Place of service delivery: Freetown 

Type of contract: Consultancy contract (firm or individual) 

Confidentiality: The selected legal advisor will not plead any case in any court of law against  SOLTHIS 

Closing date for applications: 03/1st/2024
