Start Date: Subject to Donor Approval
Reports to: Resident Program Director

About IRI in Sierra Leone
The International Republican Institute works to support civil society and the political and reforms process in Sierra Leone. Since 2017, the organization has been actively engaged in supporting the electoral processes through democratic civil society organizations and the political processes. IRI technical support aims to build skills and expertise of stakeholders to perform their roles in line with democratic principles and improve collaboration amongst. IRI has an office in Freetown where its operations are managed, and it works with partners wherever they are based.
About the Role of the Program Associate
The Program Associate provides programmatic, administrative, fiscal, logistical, and monitoring, evaluation and learning support for current and developing programs in Sierra Leone. The
Program Associate will be based in Freetown and will support the program office in various aspects of the program including support and logistics for organizing activities, monitoring evaluation and learning, activity reporting and donor reporting. The RPD will manage this position holder. More specifically, the PA will be required to:
Position Description/Primary Functions:
▪ Provide Programmatic, procurement/finance, logistical, administrative, monitoring, evaluation and learning support before, during and after program events.
▪ Responsible for filing and keeping program records including minutes of office and program meetings/activities.
▪ Supports the Program Team to implement activities and ensure compliance, including logistical support for program activities and events.
▪ Tracks and follows-up on pending procurement requests, approvals and monitoring once approved.
▪ Conduct research and assist in creation of presentation slides, program agendas and concept papers.
▪ Responsible for filing and keeping program records including minutes of program meetings, attendance sheet, program sheets, banners and activities.
▪ Assists in monitoring program activities related to the approved work plan.
▪ Support efforts to evaluate and use information related to the approved work plan.
▪ Participates in budget analysis regularly.
▪ Proofreading and editing, for grammar and style, correspondence, and documents before signatures.
▪ Supports IRI’s communication strategy including IRI’s branding and outreach plans on projects assigned, including drafts and updates program summaries and other outreach materials, drafts web stories, tweets, etc.
▪ Set up meetings and appointments and prepare files with background materials.
▪ Responsible to draft weekly report and actively participate in drafting of quarterly donor reports
▪ Travels as needed for program support and implementation.
▪ Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
▪ Undergraduate degree in political science, international relations, economic, social work, or related fields.
▪ 0-2 years of experience in international development or related field
▪ Excellent writing, Research and Communication skills.
▪ Basic knowledge and skill in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning practices
▪ Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, and a strong familiarity with desktop publishing software, social media, and online applications.
