  • Network Administrator
  • Location: 1 Floor, Guma Building, 12/14 Lamina Sankoh Street,
  • Classification/Job Family: Senior Officer
  • Grade E, Level 8 of GVWC Salary Scale
  • Reports to the Director of Corporate Services

 

Job purpose:

The Network Administrator will play a crucial role in maintaining a robust and dependable network infrastructure for the company. He or she must be passionate about the role and should be dedicated to upholding network reliability, security, and efficiency

Qualification and Experience:

Education:

A Post Graduate degree OR minimum of 1 degree in Computer Science and Networking from a recognized University.

Experience:

7 years of work or proven experience in a network administrator role or Networking

Hands-on experience in routing and switching

Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure

Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired

Ability to set up and configure server hardware

Familiarity with backup and recovery

software and methodologies

  • Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking

 

Responsibilities:

  • Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade the company’s networks and servers Install and integrate new server hardware and applications

Keep an eye out for needed updates  Support and administer third-party applications

  • Ensure network security and connectivity Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses

Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords

  • Resolve problems reported by end users Define network policies and procedures  Specify system requirements and design solutions

Research and make recommendations on   server system administration

  • Any other duties as may be assigned.
