JOB OPPORTUNITY
National Expert for School Leadership (Consultancy)
Building on the development of junior and senior secondary schools, the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MoBSSE)/Teaching Service Commission (TSC) through its Leh Wi Lan program, are looking to hire the services of a National Expert for School Leadership
Women are particularly encouraged to apply.
Through the school leadership course, we will equip school leaders to be professional school leaders who are focused on learning outcomes and take a more inclusive approach to learning and management and have stronger school performance management, monitoring and reporting routines.
This role is funded by and contracted through FCDO’s Sierra Leone Secondary Education Improvement Programme 2.

Example duties and responsibilities |
- Develop learning outcomes and content for two school leadership toolkits.
- Review existing materials for school leadership programmes, map them to the content design assess their suitability and adapt and develop new materials to create study toolkits for school leaders.
- Develop materials for Toolkit 1 Introduction to school leadership (workbook and video)
- Design testing processes for the first toolkit
- Collect and analyze data and report on lessons learnt.
- Agree a final structure and mechanisms for the school leadership course.
- Develop materials for toolkit 2 for the school leadership course.
- Lead training for the 15 local leaders of learning

Candidate profile |
Experience |
- Knowledge and experience of school leadership
- Experience of developing and designing written and video study materials and guides
- Training skills and experience
- Knowledge and experience of coaching processes
- M and E skills
- Ability to collect, analyze data, report on findings and make recommendations.
- Commitment to improving learning outcomes
- Ability to build relationships and work as part of a team
